Hi all,
Carlos here. I'm the Product Developer Manager here at Wolf & Shepherd. I'm responsible for providing our designers with the tools that will enable their design come to life, making sure that nothing is lost in translation from the design, through development, and into production.
On to Cruise - from the moment you pick up your first pair, you'll feel the attention to detail and quality craftsmanship in every stitch. Our Cruise™ collection is crafted from the finest Italian leathers—and you can tell. Every shoe is handcrafted in Portugal with utmost care, below is a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most important steps we take to make sure every pair we ship is out is the best it can possible be.
It all starts with the highest quality materials
Our craftsmen get our Italian leather to start cutting. Each individual piece is cut with precision in order to maximize the use of our premium leathers and eliminate waste.
Reinforced for shape and durability
The addition of essential reinforcements provides the structural integrity for our shoes. The heel and toe cap reinforcement go through a heating and cooling process. Both process have a signature W&S mold to ensure the final shape is true to the original design. The heating and cooling have a marked time to adhere our tailored guideline to accomplish our premium requirements.
Assembled with care
The beginning of the end of assembly starts as each upper is marked carefully in order to provide correct bottom assembly. This ensures our artisans know the exact placement of the outsole and provides a minimal margin of error throughout the assembly process.
Pressurized
The shoe is then placed into a chamber that removes all air pressure maximizing the contact surface area between the upper and outsole to provide for maximum bonding of each one of our components to the other.
The finishing touches
It all comes together as our team laces each shoe and places our premium footbed in to each shoe. Once this is done, the only thing left to do is to place in tissue paper, box it up, and send it to you.
Sincerely,
Carlos Sazo
